OBIC Launches New Video Series, “Under the Surface”, Aimed to Highlight Underground Infrastructure Industry

Launched in October 2024, “Under the Surface” goes behind the scenes with OBIC-certified installers to talk about projects, technology, and industry trends.  “Under the Surface” was created by Lee Drugan, Marketing Manager of OBIC, ART, and S&S Directional Boring.  “When starting with a new company, there’s always a learning curve,” said Drugan. “As I gained insights into these various applications, I thought it would be fascinating to share that learning journey with others. I’ve always loved behind-the-scenes shows like Dirty Jobs or How It’s Made because they reveal the raw, unpolished reality behind a product or process. That authenticity can be incredibly engaging.”

He added, “The trenchless industry deserves more visibility. Most people only think about underground utilities when something goes wrong, like a clogged toilet, but there’s so much more to the world of underground construction and trenchless technology. It’s an industry that truly deserves the spotlight.”

“This year, we’re putting a greater spotlight on the projects and the talented professionals applying OBIC products,” said Drugan. “The application process truly is an art, and the teams handling the prepping, spraying, and finishing do exceptional work. I also plan to showcase the incredible work being done by the S&S Directional Boring crews. They’re making a significant impact by installing new underground utilities like water lines and sewer mains, helping to improve local communities. This work is critical, especially as aging infrastructure becomes an increasing challenge for municipalities.”
