Powerful Solutions for Leak Prevention: How to Select the Chemical Grout for Your Needs
When it comes to protecting wastewater structures, OBIC’s chemical grouts offer a robust solution for stopping leaks and preventing future damage. From hand-injected to pump-injected grouts, these products are tailored for different applications, ensuring the right solution for every situation. Let’s take a closer look at each of the featured chemical grouts available from OBIC:
OBIC 2210 RapidSeal (Hand-Injected)
Key Use: Quick repairs and fast action
2210 RapidSeal is a self-reactive, two-part grout that does not require water to activate, making it ideal for swift repairs in emergencies. It’s designed to handle small to moderate leaks quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime for maintenance projects. RapidSeal is perfect for situations where time is of the essence, such as sealing cracks and joints in water-heavy environments.
OBIC 2230 HyperSeal (Hand-Injected)
Key Use: Flexible water-activated sealant
2230 HyperSeal is a water-activated, flexible polyurethane grout designed to repair large and small leaks in wastewater structures. Once applied, it expands upon contact with water, making it an excellent choice for environments with continuous exposure to moisture. Whether you’re dealing with cracks or joints in the system, HyperSeal’s expanding properties ensure thorough sealing.
OBIC 2262 MaxSeal (Hand-Injected)
Key Use: Heavy-duty leak protection
OBIC 2262 MaxSeal is designed for tough leaks that require a high-strength solution. This polyurethane grout is effective in both stopping leaks and providing long-lasting protection. It’s well-suite for infrastructure that sees heavy wear and tear, ensuring water stays in or out, as needed. 2262 MaxSeal offers significant expansion upon contact with water, allowing it to fill cracks and voids effectively.
OBIC 2290 MultiSeal LV (Hand-Injected)
Key Use: Versatile and efficient sealing
2290 MultiSeal LV is a low-viscosity polyurethane grout, ideal for applications where deeper penetration into cracks and seams is required. Its versatility allows it to be used in a range of structures, from brick to concrete, and it excels in sealing smaller cracks and weeping leaks. MultiSeal LV offers flexibility and ease of use, making it a go-to choice for comprehensive sealing projects.
OBIC 2060 MaxSeal (Pump-Injected)
OBIC 2060 MaxSeal is a moisture-activated, expanding, rigid hydrophobic polyurethane foam. It’s designed to permeate soil granules and fill large and small voids where water is leaking into structures. It withstands wet/dry cycles, permeates well and reacts quickly with water to form a dense, impermeable rigid foam. Typical uses include filling voids on the exterior of below-grade structures and stopping mid to high volume and mid to high pressure leaks in below-grade structures.
Note: OBIC 2060 MaxSeal requires the use of OBIC 2060C MaxSeal Conditioner. 2060C is added to 2060 MaxSeal before it is injected into substrate, enabling OBIC 2060 MaxSeal to react with water accordingly.
OBIC 2090 MultiSeal (Pump-Injected)
OBIC 2090 MultiSeal is a low viscosity, flexible, closed cell, hydrophilic polyurethane foam. It’s designed to be used as a crack and joint filler and routinely for manhole sealing and pipe penetrations. 2090 is designed for sealing active water leaks in cracks or joints in concrete, brick, and block structures as well as plastic. It can withstand high water flows and works best with low pressure, low volume leaks. OBIC 2090 can absorb up to 10 times its weight in water.
Each of these grouts is designed to meet specific challenges in wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the right product is available for any scenario. Whether dealing with large-scale leaks, requiring fast fixes, or needing long-term protection, OBIC’s range of chemical grouts provides the solutions needed to maintain structural integrity and prevent costly repairs down the road.
